Keep cool with homemade popsicles

August is one of the hottest months of the year. Thankfully, we have a bunch of different ways to stay cool. Whether it’s a dip in the pool, a fresh glass of lemonade, or a popsicle, there’s nothing quite like the refreshing feeling of something cold on a hot summer day. Here at Orr’s, we love finding seasonal recipes that can spice up (or cool down) our lives. Check out this recipe we found from Oh So Delicioso for Peaches and Cream Smoothie Popsicles so you can be prepared for the next August scorcher.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup vanilla greek yogurt
  • 4 ripe peaches
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 peach sliced thin

Directions

  1. In a blender blend ingredients until smooth. Pour into popsicle molds and freeze!

***optional: add sliced thin peaches into the popsicle molds before pouring in the

smoothie liquid.

Recipe Notes

If peaches are out of season you can use canned or frozen peaches in place of fresh peaches. They sometimes will be over sweet (peaches canned in syrup) or not sweet enough (frozen peaches) so make sure to adjust the amount of honey you add to the blender.

Here are a few tips to having a stick straight handles:

  • Let the popsicle freeze for 30-60 minutes, the liquid will firm up and then you can add the stick.
  • Purchase a mold with a lid included.
  • Add fresh fruit. Adding the fruit holds up the stick.
