School Tours

Orr’s Farm Market supports healthy eating in our schools and communities. We welcome groups to learn about our produce and how to use it! We offer several packages for school groups, preschool classes, MOPS groups, 4-H clubs or other groups. Please Send an email to receive more detailed information. We can customize our activities to fit your group’s needs.
For Fast Check-In-Please have a head count and all your money for students, parents, and siblings totaled and with your group leader.

Berry Field Trips
Available May 1-June 12

Scheduled Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays by appointment only!

Student admission is $10.50 for groups of 16 students or more. 1 Teacher and 1 Teachers Aide free per class. Parents are $7.50 which includes tour and snack but does not include goodie bag or fruit.

6 Rotation Groups:

There are 6 rotations to this field trip:

**Station 1:** Berry School-Pick a pint of berries, learn about how they grow and potential pests. (Trips before May 15 will receive pre-picked berries if Orr’s berries aren’t ripe yet. If berries aren’t ripe we do a Garden Tour instead and show different types of berries, grapes, etc. and how they grow.
**Station 2:** Plant A Seed-Plant a sunflower seed and learn about how plants grow.
**Station 3:** Bee School- Learn about the importance of bees and pollination for crops.
**Station 4:** Learn How to Make A Healthy Snack with Strawberries
**Station 5:** Scenic Hayride
**Station 6: **Animals & Farmer Fun Playground

Includes:

  • Goodie Bag with AgMag Color Newspaper, Activity Packet, Crayons, and Recipe for Snack
  • Groups are welcome to bring picnic blankets and have lunch here as well
  • Restroom Facilities Provided
  • Located about 5 miles from Poorhouse Farm Park if groups want to visit their campgrounds/playground for lunch afterward
  • Photo Opportunities

PLEASE NOTE:

All groups are welcome, however our haywagons are not currently wheelchair accessible. Please contact us if you have any further questions.

Please have each child wear an identification tag which includes their name and the name of the school. Stress the importance of dressing properly. They may need to wear boots or coats, depending on the weather.
