The weather has started to shift, so we are shifting right along with it. We’ve started harvesting Pumpkins and Gourds from our farm this week. Bakery Pick of the Week
Did you know we sell Peach Muffins? This week we are highlighting some of the last tastes of Summer and that includes — the Peach Muffins. With Peach season winding down, we will also be phasing out the Peach Muffins. Make sure to grab a few packs to tide you over until we make them again. Pick up a 4 pack for just $6.99
Let’s Talk Fruit
Right now we’ve got 7 varieties of apples in the farm market. Need a few to toss into your kiddos lunch box? Consider the Galas for a sweeter apple, or the Honeycrisp for something with a little tartness. Need some perfect apple dumpling apples? Go for the Wolf River. Not only are the Wolf River huge, they also hold their shape really well when baked.
Current varieties: Golden Supreme, Greening, Gala, Wolf River, Honeycrisp, Crimson Crisp, and Ginger Gold
Pears, Plum, and Peaches!
Our homegrown Magness Pears have a great traditional pear flavor once fully ripe. We pick them on the greener side so they don’t get bruised during transit from our orchards, to the markets, and then to your homes. Just leave them sit on your counter and in just a few days you’ll have a sweet, juicy pear.
Elephant Ear Plums have arrived. These look very similar to the Stanley Prune Plums though the Elephant Ear are almost double the size. These are great for snacking, drying, or recipes. They are an italian type of plum.
Yellow freestone peaches are still going strong. We are onto our last few varieties though, so if you’ve not gotten any of our West Virginia peaches, I’d do so now! We expect them to last about another 2 weeks or so. This weekend we’ll have Victoria, Laurel and Autumn Star in the farm market.
So you’ve tried some yellow peaches, but what about white? The white peaches have a sweet subtle peach flavor. They are perfect for snacking, but you could also bake with them. Come grab some before they are gone!
Mountaineer Popcorn Restock
Mountaineer Popcorn dropped off our order earlier this week with some flavors I think our customers might be excited about. We have 2 different sizes and lots of different flavors.
This weeks flavors: Buffalo Cheddar, Crabby Caramel, Salted Caramel Peanut, Dill Pickle, Garlic Parmesan, Birthday Cake, & White Cheddar.
